Fortunately Winona still does not have big box stores, or sprawling malls. If we did, you wouldn't ever see a photo like this. Red tailed fox on the side of the road, 11th Road East, Winona escarpment.

I was on my way to the corner store this evening, when I spotted a horse and buggy, carrying a bride and groom. I was very surprised there wasn't a crowd of people following them nor were there any cars trailing along.
Eight swans "a swimming" . . . not in a pond, nor a lake . . . this is a farmer's cornfield, just south of Hwy. 20, in Stoney Creek. Rivers and streams spill over back roads caused by our torrential downpours this past week-end.
Look! It's a bird, it's a plane . . . no it's shoes! Lots of them too! This is for all you parents out there in Stoney Creek. When your kids say they "lost" their shoes or somebody "stole" their shoes, run over to Fiest Mall, behind liquor store and look up! There they are . . . pairs and pairs of them including Nike, and other expensive name brands.
Here in Winona, we have experienced little to no snow this winter, and it appears that Canada Geese somehow had the "heads up" on how our winter would be. Evidently, the geese have decided not to fly south for the winter.
The Olympic torch made its way through frigid cold morning in Winona on December 20, 2010, en route for Grimsby through to Niagara Falls.
Looking forward to Winona Peach Festival coming August 2010.
Rain or shine, approximately 200,000 people visit the Winona Peach Festival each year.
